Sheila and I are working our way through 101 Dog Tricks and the first trick we’re learning is shake!
Sheila already knows this one but I’ve never differentiated between each paw so that’s what we’re doing.
Currently, her cue is “madam president” because I think it’s funny. We’ll be using that for her right paw, a proper handshake. Her left paw will be “shake”, which is boring but effective.

Shake is a trick a lot of dogs learn quickly. It’s easy to capture since most dogs will offer a paw for various reasons and physically its easy and natural for most pups.
Because Sheila already knows this trick I don’t think we’ll need to spend very long on it. After 2 days with multiple 5-10 minute sessions she’s basically nailed it. We’re going to keep proofing it over the next few says and probably move on to the next trick!
